I often get the question "How come I see the same models getting booked over and over when my child has yet to receive his/her first booking?", while I am unable to guarantee your child a booking, I am able to help you help get them out there.
The first step is simple, yet some parents believe this is an unnecessary step. Create your child model their own facebook fan page. If you are worried about strangers viewing photos of your child, then you can create them a facebook "friending" page and set all of their settings to "friends only". After doing so, upload all of your child's modeling photos, add new friends (or "like" others modeling pages and have them come over and "like" yours) to build a fan base. Post your models page on the Ellie Kate Models wall so all of us at EKM can add or become a fan!
Secondly, after making your new page, "like" our boutique partners page, and "show some EKM love" by posting a sweet message on their wall letting them know that you are an EKM model. Don't be too pushy though, boutiques don't like to feel like models are "begging" for bookings. I know at this point, if you've been waiting for a booking for a while, it can get a little frustrating, don't post things such as "I would LOVE to model this for you!", just post a sweet "showing some love from Ellie Kate Models" or "new fan from Ellie Kate Models! Love your stuff!"...something like that! That gets the boutiques attention! Trust me! Once they see that post, they are most likely heading over to your page to check you out! And, hopefully a booking will come out of it!
Third thing, don't get yourself down. Just because you don't get a booking within your first few months of being listed, don't give up! Boutiques get very overwhelmed by the mass amount of models and comp cards that they have to go through. Don't think that boutiques don't think your child is good enough to model for them, that isn't true. Boutiques are not just in this to book models, this is a business to them and the least amount of time that they spend choosing models, the most of their time they get to choose making new items and working on their pages. Post some "love" on the Ellie Kate Models wall, post a new photo of your model on our wall every once in a while showing off your photo quality, post about upcoming photo shoots, vacations or events that you will be attending!
And last but not least, NEVER EVER EVER think that your child is not beautiful because each and every single model at EKM is VERY VERY beautiful. Don't give up on boutique modeling or your child. Give EKM and our Boutique Partners a chance to make you the proud parents that you KNOW you are! You are the best parents out there and I am so glad that I have gotten the chance to know all of you!
